The String raw() static method allows us to access the raw string from a template literal. Substitutions (${foo}) are processed but escape characters (\n) are not processed.
// string with new line characters in it
const dateString = `Monday\nTuesday\nWednesday`
const dateStringRaw = String.raw`Monday\nTuesday\nWednesday`;
console.log(dateStringRaw)
// "Monday\nTuesday\nWednesday"
// without String.raw
console.log(dateString)
// "Monday
// Tuesday
// Wednesday"
